DYOR
Do Your Own Research: verify before you commit money.
DYOR (do your own research) is the community's standing warning: verify claims from primary sources before committing money, and treat influencers, ads and anonymous tips as marketing.
For miners it applies concretely: check a coin's emission and difficulty yourself, read the pool's verifiable numbers rather than its slogans, and run the calculator with your own electricity price.
